HANAMOMIJI ONSEN
column
Natural hot spring produced by forest droplets that gush up from the gorge and the passion of the earth.
This hot spring gushing up from Jozankei is a "sodium chloride spring," and is also known as the "Spring of Heat. The water is known for being clear, colorless, and mildly salty, with the salt that adheres to the skin when bathing helping to prevent evaporation of sweat and warming the body from the core. The groundwater surrounding Jozankei is heated by the heat of the earth, and naturally gushes out abundantly from the Tsukimi Bridge and Takayama Bridge area of the Toyohira River, which flows through the center of the hot spring town. Our hot springs comprise a blend of water from three sources one of them being the famous SHIKAnoYU, where wild deer used to bathe to heal their wounds. It is noted for being soft, gentle, and moisturizing on the skin. We hope you will enjoy this famous hot spring, which opened in 1866 and is still loved by many people, to your heart's content.
